Season 3 of The Walking Dead is back! Tonight’s episode 3.09, “The Suicide King,” has started airing in various time zones and AMC just released a new TV Spot and various clips from next week’s episode 3.10, “Home”. I’m not caught up yet so I haven’t watched it! They’ve also released some behind the scenes footage from “The Suicide King.”

In Episode 3.10, “Home”: “While the group ponders their next move, Rick sets out to find a missing friend. Later, Merle and Daryl begin to have second thoughts about their choices.

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, “The Walking Dead” tells the story of the months and years that follow after a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home. The series stars Andrew Lincoln, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson, Melissa McBride, David Morrissey and Danai Gurira.

“Home” airs Sunday, February 17th at 9PM ET. Head inside for the goods!

Merle’s decision to leave with Daryl didn’t surprise me too much. As Daryl said, he left his brother once before, and he wasn’t going to make that mistake again. Rick is starting to fall apart, and the group is going to crumble because of it, IMO. I don’t have the knowledge of the comics, so I’m just guessing. lol. And I was SHOCKED to see the dissension at The Governor’s World (made that name up, does the community have an actual name?). The Governor wants blood and revenge in the worst way, and he’s going to do anything to get it.

Good return episode, but still, I didn’t have that “OMG THE WALKING DEAD IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!” feeling. I was happy to see the show again, but if I missed tonight’s premiere, it wouldn’t have bothered me at all.

Last night was kinda lackluster in parts, I must agree. but to answer some of your questions:

Rick didn’t fall apart in the comics until after they left the prison (for reasons I won’t delve into at this time). He would get phone calls from Lori, but the apparitions did not happen in the comics so I don’t know where they are going with this one.

The “Governor’s World” is better known just as Woodbury. This is how it is referred to in the comics and in the Novels about the Governor’s rise to “power”. The community did have some dissension in the comics, but not quite the same as the show. It was more like a few individuals than the whole group.

I hope the writing doesn’t get lazy over the next few episodes as there should be a definite build to the climax that “should” happen at the end of this season. I am just glad to have my show back on and something to look forward to on Sunday nights!

Ah Woodbury! I almost had it last night, but it couldn’t come to me! Thanks wildgator.

And if what I saw last night is just the tip of the iceberg, I can only imagine the depths of Rick’s nervous break down in future episodes.

Yeah, like I said though, I am not sure where they are going with Rick’s mental state. He never really showed anything like this to anyone else that I can remember from the comics. He only told Michonne that he was having conversations with his dead wife after she told him something similar and they decided to keep each other’s secret.

That also being said, Rick and Michonne become very tight in the comics. I hope they do in the live show as well….. but it looks like Rick could give two shits about her right now.

Michonne and Rick as a team? Man, that would be AWESOME! I really hope it happens, because logic wise, Rick NEEDS another lethal force at his side. Herschel is crippled, his son isn’t ready for obvious reasons, and he just lost Daryl. Michoone is tough and fearless, and she would be the perfect sidekick!

Unfortunately this episode felt like the first truly awful ep of the season. Characters doing things that made no logical sense, poor dialogue, Lori hallucinations, Andrea being preposterous. It felt like an ep straight out of season 2.

I was also not very impressed by the kick off episode last night. I was really expecting a big kick in the face like they usually successfully give you after these types of breaks during the season. the episode was rather chatty and not enough flesh eating.
