Hoping to catch you up on the franchise, CBS Films has released the featurette “Nell’s Story” from The Last Exorcism Part II, their sequel to the found-footage horror opening in theaters March 1. The footage recounts the events in Nell Sweetzer’s (Ashley Bell) horrific life.

Continuing where the first film left off, Nell Sweetzer (Ashley Bell) is found alone and terrified in the woods. Back in the relative safety of civilization, Nell realizes that she can’t remember entire portions of the previous months only that she is the last surviving member of her family. Just as Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her is back with other, unimaginably horrific plans that mean herlast exorcism was just the beginning.

Eli Roth produces once again.

No need to catch anyone up on the franchise, this is only part two! Ashley Bell is amazing! Her Nell, average looking and awkward is the perfect character for these kinds of movies. The type of character we don’t see much of. I really loved the first film and have seen it several times, I know I’m in the minority, my strange ass is always in the minority! The scene in the first one when the female filmmaker givers Nell her boots was so sweet, Nell is (was) such an innocent, sweet, and kind of awkward teenager.
After watching this clip, I have to admit again that I’m pretty excited for next weekend! I like the almost BLAIR WITCH 2 twist (I love BW2, MINORITY!) that the first movie exists as a viral video, I know it’s not the same thing but it’s a same basic idea. Also the film being a narrative style caught my eye early on, again I loved the first movie but this style allows for a little more explanation and hopefully a fuller ending. The ending to LE1 was probably one of the best found footage endings since BLAIR WITCH PROJECT it just needed a little more explanation, which is fine because we are getting it via sequel
