Devin Townsend Covers “Badger, Badger, Badger (Mushroom, Mushroom)”
If you were into huge internet memes about 10 years ago or so then you’ll remember Weebl, the website that had a ton of different looping flash cartoons with absurdly catchy songs. My personal favorites were the original Magical Trevor, Narwhals, and Crabs. But the most popular one, without a doubt, was Badgers. It honestly seemed like I couldn’t go a day without someone posting a link to that flash cartoon on a forum or in a chatroom.
Well, that classic internet video has now received a metal remix thanks to the wildly eccentric Devin Townsend, who posted the track on YouTube yesterday. The drums are courtesy of Soilwork‘s Dirk Verbeuren and the track was recorded during the Deconstruction studio sessions. Check it out below!

Not a big fan of his music but you gotta love his sense of humour.
I think I still have an amusing interview with him on Krusher’s Kosmos on Noisy Mothers way back in the early 90s. Top bloke.

I forgot he had a full head of hair! Great to see The Wildhearts get mentioned.
Also, I miss Noisy Mothers and Krusher. ITV should never have cancelled it. I think I might still have some Raw Power on tape aswell with an interview with Ginger from The Quireboys.
I must try and get them all onto DVD sometime.
