[SXSW '13] Grab An Axe And Prepare For ‘You’re Next’

In theaters August 23, 2013, we’ve landed a new look at Lionsgate’s You’re Next (read our review), the Toronto International Film Festival smash hit that blew the minds of the Midnight Madness audience. It screens this weekend at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas.

Directed by Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett, the duo best known for A Horrible Way to Die, V/H/S and the forthcoming S-VHS (V/H/S/2), “One of the smartest and most terrifying films in years, the film reinvents the genre by putting a fresh twist on home-invasion horror. When a gang of masked, ax-wielding murderers descend upon the Davison family reunion, the hapless victims seem trapped…until an unlikely guest of the family proves to be the most talented killer of all.”

Sharni Vinson, Nick Tucci, Wendy Glenn, AJ Bowen, Joe Swanberg, Margaret Laney, Amy Seimetz, Ti West, Calvin Reeder, Larry Fessenden, Kate Lyn Sheil, Barbara Crampton and Rob Moran all star.

I am stoked for this movie. I saw this movie last night called RITES OF SPRING what a fuckin shitty movie that was. It has so many plot points happening and nothing happens and that ending OMG don’t get me started on that.

I saw this like a year and a half ago at TIFF. It’s such an entertaining movie, I wouldn’t consider it terrifying though. It’s actually a perfect summer horror movie with a really interesting tone as I remember. I’ll be seeing it again in the theatre for sure.
