Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) is set to star in her next Guillermo del Toro project, after appearing in his producing effort, Mama. Per Variety, the Oscar Nominated star is in negotiations to join Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness) Charlie Hunnam (“Sons Of Anarchy”) and Emma Stone (Zombieland) in Crimson Peak.
Plot details are being kept under wraps as del Toro and Lucinda Coxon rewrite the original script penned by del Toro and Matthew Robbins.
Legendary Films will produce and be a participating financing partner on the movie, with Universal Pictures retaining an option to finance at a later date. The film is set to begin shooting in February 2014.
