‘Highrise’ Sells To Fox 2000 Pitched As “‘Misery’ In A Skyscraper'”

It’s a good day to have a project influenced by one of Stephen King’s works. Fox 2000 just bought Highrise from writer Peter Dowling (Flight Plan). It sounds sorta eh but we’ll keep tabs on it in case it turns into something of interest.

Per THR, “The logline is being kept under wraps, but it’s described as being in the vein of the Stephen King story and subsequent movie Misery, this time set in a Manhattan skyscraper.” Jon Shestack (Air Force One) will produce.

So it’s like Misery, but in a far less scary environment?

I’m with ya on the “eh” on this one. But if they say Misery set in an airplane, that may get me going. Or Misery redown by the Muppets. I could get down with Beaker running a lawnmower over a cop..
