New First Look Featurette For ‘World War Z’ Gets You Up To Speed

Paramount has released an EPK style first look featurette from Marc Forster’s World War Z, their zombie movies raising the dead on June 21. The video includes comments from the cast and creative team along with some footage, nothing earth shattering though.

Starring Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox and David Morse, the one-sheet displays a mile-high piling of rotting, decaying zombies attacking a helicopter.

The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop a pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.

i’m sorry but i think this looks fucking awesome! i just love how the infected/zombies are like 100% raw nerves times a million. i love the zombie/infection genre but it’s played out. this movie has managed to do something new/refreshing. i can’t wait for this.

Why did you say I’m sorry?

LOL. because this movie has gotten mostly negative feedback and admitting that i think the movie looks good tends to get me flamed/bashed. LOL.

For me the issue isn’t the zombies. I’m always down with new variations of zombies and infected. I love it when people do things like that. There’s just something telling me this is a mess. I’ll still see it, most likely day one and I promise that I won’t go in with the pre-conception ‘it’s going to suck’. I have the book and the book is the book. It would have been nice to have a straight up adaption but that didn’t come to be. I will judge the movie as its own entity. I think it’s because the director just doesn’t seem confident in his own product in all the interviews I’ve seen him in?

weresmurf, i can’t lie. i would have LOVED to have seen a faithful version (from the books) of the Yonkers scene!! overall i DO wish this was a faithful adaptation to the book and that it was R rated/gory but i’m choosing to look at this movie as the 3rd installment of the 28 DAYS/WEEKS LATER franchise. they have major similarities (it taking 12 seconds or so to become infected, etc). i think as an ACTION/horror movie this could be really good and we’re sure to see a global infection/zombie movie and scenes that are jaw dropping. fingers crossed! :)
