[TV] J.J. Abrams To Head Back In Time To “11/22/63”

Well, he won’t direct it, that much is almost certain given his current slate – but J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot shingle is currently negotiating for the rights to the Stephen King book “11/22/63”. The development of the project will happen through Warner Bros. TV, where Bad Robot has a deal.

Per Deadline, “ the plan is to adapt the book as a TV series or mini-series, likely for cable.

The book, “centers on Jake, an unassuming divorced English teacher who stumbles upon a time portal that leads to 9/9/1958 and goes on a quest to try and prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy which occurred on 11/22/1963.

Are you more stoked for this or “Under The Dome”?

Cant wait to see both of these. Only issue with so many of King’s stories is that he seems to struggle to find a suitable ending….It, The Dark Tower, and both of these as examples just seemed to fizzle out at the end.

Completely agree. I loved this and Under the Dome, but the endings leave a lot to be desired.

  • Introverted Surd

Having just finished reading Under the dome (So I had read the book before the show) I can say that I’m looking forward to Under the Dome far more than this one and totally agree with “nohandtyper” that the ending was sub par but no ending could have done justice to the rest of the book. I don’t think there could be a better ending from after the large plot turn at the end. Any ending after that would feel like a cop out.
