Free Comic Book Day Is Tomorrow, May 4th!!!

Free Comic Book Day is an annual event that takes place on the first saturday of May. Participating comic shops (which is the vast majority) give away a set grouping of comic books absolutely free. There is no catch. Whether you’ve been reading comics since you were in diapers, or you’ve never picked one up in your life, I urge you to head on down to your local shop and read some comics. These books are specially produced by each publisher, specifically for FCBD. They are written and illustrated by some of the best in the business. Check out a word from Hugh Jackman below.

For a list of all the free comics that will be kicking around, check here.

If it’s free it’s for me!

I picked up something called Aphrodite IX, which was kind of cool, a Superman book (Krypto-fan!), The Wonderful World Of OZ (local artist, combines Alice in Wonderland with the stories of OZ), a part of a graphic novel about the Carter Family and a reprint of the original Buck Rogers newspaper strips, which is a magnificent thing to behold.
