Okay, So Now Luke Evans Is The ‘The Crow’

Forget those talks with Alexander Skarskard and Tom Hiddlseton. Relativity and the Weinstein Company have apparently settled on Luke Evans (pictured above; No One Lives, the upcoming Dracula prequel) to play Eric Draven in their reboot of The Crow.

The adaptation of James O’Barr’s comics has had a tough time finding its leading man, after talks with multiple actors have fallen apart in recent weeks. Ultimately director Javier Gutierrez will push the start date of production to make this happen. Per Deadline, “Evans seemed to be unavailable because of production on ‘Dracula’ and promotion on ‘The Hobbit.’ The distributor looked at Tom Hiddleston and more recently Alexander Skarsgard, the latter of whom has a bunch of offers after Warner Bros halted ‘Tarzan.’ Ultimately, they have decided to push the start date to early next year to accommodate his schedule in order to secure Evans.

In The Crow, a man brutally murdered comes back to life as an undead avenger of his and his fiancée’s murder.

I am fine with him or Skarsgard. Hiddleston, Cooper and Wahlberg don’t do it for me.

I know they can do wonders with special effects and make up, but I just don’t think his physical appearance, especially in the face department, is the right one for The Crow. The again, everything is better than seeing Jason Statham massacre the role!

Geez, this casting is turning into Ghostbusters 3.

  • ThunderDragoon

As long as it’s not that sissy from Thor and The Avengers, I’m happy. Hopefully this is the last time they change. XD

  • VampireJack

Actually, this is already out of date.
I have been linked to the role.

Strange, me too. I found an e-mail in my spam folder today that said “Congratulations ! You’re going to play The Crow in the upcoming reboot ! Click this link to find out how !”

      Hahahaaa, good one, guys!

Not interested with him in that role at all. Prefer Hiddleston. He is too … stiff (although I do like him as an actor)

  • FromHeroesToDust

Just so long as it isn’t Bradley Cooper or Tom Hiddleston. I’m curious to see how Evans does as Draven.

  • UndeadRaziel

What? I don’t even like that this is being remade. At least Tom would do a good job.

  • KnightClaw

Cool. Bring on a new version of The Crow!
Brandon will live on in the Original Forever, of course.
A different Version doesn’t Erase the Original, so I’m all for seeing an alternate version .
This time, they should do an exact adaptation of O’Barr’s graphic novel. That would ROCK.

    Brandon Lee. ‘Nuf said.
