‘American Vampire Anthology’ Includes Stories From Snyder, Rucka, Lemire, & More

Scott Snyder’s “American Vampire” has been on hiatus for the past couple of months, but Vertigo has some special plans for the book this summer. HeroComplex reports that Vertigo is planning to release “American Vampire Anthology” this August. The 80-page comic will feature eigth stories from DC all stars, including Greg Rucka, Gail Simone, Becky Cloonan, Jeff Lemire, Ray Fawkes, Francesco Francavilla, Declan Shalvey, Gabriel Ba and Fabio Moon and more. The anthology follows up the release of the “American Vampire: The Long Road to Hell” one-shot issue from Snyder and Albuquerque in June.

I’ve miss this book a hell of a lot. Especially with the conclusion of “I, Vampire”, there’s a lack of strong vampire books on the shelves. This anthology marks the first time that outside writers will be handling material from the American Vampire universe (aside from Stephen King of course). The creators will be exploring an array of different characters, some of which will be familiar faces.

The series is still set to return as an ongoing book sometime later this year. But for now, we’ve got “Anthology” and “The Long Road to Hell” to hold us over.

Look for “American Vampire Anthology” #1 on August 7th, 2013.
