‘Prisoners,’ the Hottest Script In Hollywood, Has A Trailer!!

2-prisoners

Once the hottest script in town (penned by Aaron Guzikowski), could Prisoners end up being the hottest movie around?

After years in development hell, the movie is done, and Warner Bros. Pictures has released the trailer and poster for Denis Villeneuve’s thriller that stars Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Viola Davis, Melissa Leo and Paul Dano. It looks absolutely intense.

In theaters September 20, “How far would you go to protect your child? Keller Dover (Jackman) is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. His six-year-old daughter, Anna, is missing, together with her young friend, Joy, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had earlier been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki (Gyllenhaal) arrests its driver, Alex Jones (Paul Dano), but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect’s release.

Knowing his child’s life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, he may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?

Hmm, don’t know what makes this so special. Doesn’t really have anything that wows me. It has to have hype around it for some reason so maybe it’s good. I’ll just have to see the movie to find out, I guess lol.

Sounds fairly generic to me. Hopefully it ends up surprising somehow.

The little girls are probably hiding somewhere the whole time. At least Jake Gyllenhaal is in it :P

Seems a bit generic with a promising cast too – A bit mystic river vibe but probably the pay off won’t be as good as the premise. I will watch it for the talented cast for sure – the cinematography looks good too

If the girls are hiding somewhere then the plot was copied from Darkness Falls. I also hope there is more than meets the eye here scenario going in this film.

I don’t know about this. There’s an Australian movie called Daddy’s Little Girl that’s been winning some big film festival awards lately that is similiar to this same story – but looks better.

But Prisoners does have a great cast though.

The cast in this is amazing. It looks good but somewhat generic. I definitely will still see this.

  • Frank Zito

It’s refreshing to see something that isn’t a remake or sequel. I’ve liked Paul Dano ever since There Will Be Blood.

This looks pretty much exactly like 7 Jours du Talion, except that this one leaves the fate of the girl(s) mysterious, which might raise the dramatic stakes some. I’ll probably see it. Still, french horror always wins.
