New ‘Carrie’ Image Carries Foreboding Terror

In the newest image from MGM/Screen Gems’ Carrie, in theaters October 18, Carrie, played by Chloë Grace Moretz, is on her way to what will be the most memorable prom ever with Tommy Ross (Ansel Elgort).

Also starring Julianne Moore, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde, Judy Greer and Portia Doubleday, the pic, directed by Kimberly Peirce, “is a reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

Brian De Palma’s 1976 film version of Carrie, adapted from Stephen King’s novella, earned Oscar nominations for stars Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie.
