[E3 2013] This ‘Bayonetta 2′ Trailer May Cause Seizures

I loved Bayonetta for its stylish visuals and extremely polished combat. The story and characters, not so much. Earlier this morning, Nintendo unveiled a new trailer for Bayonetta 2, which will be coming exclusively to the Wii U (Nintendo is publishing it) for a nebulous 2014 release. In the trailer, witches wearing tight fitted clothes battle demons and giant purple dragons in a dazzling display of aerobatics. It’s flashy, over-the-top, and looks insanely fun. More after the break.

I still have to play the first one, but this looks really awesome.

  • Canucklehead

The first one proved that games don’t have to be all Call of Duty, dark and angst filled to be fun and it was a hoot. And witches in tight costumes to boot.

  • DeadInHell

What’s with the annoying kid at the end? The last thing any IP needs is some dumb child character gumming up the works. Especially one that smug looking and moronically attired.

Also, sort of strange that a game about a witch whose clothes are made of hair, and who goes au naturale when using that hair to do special moves…is exclusive to the WiiU. I would not have guessed Nintendo would be the one to snag this up. They are usually a bit more puritanical.

Also also, I’m all for games that are different from CoD, but Bayonetta’s “press one button over and again while watching this movie” approach to gameplay doesn’t exactly thrill me. Button mash city. It just doesn’t go anywhere.

  • Canucklehead

No argument from me that it was a button masher, but it was a fun button masher.
