[Release Date] First Ever Look At Chucky and Fiona Dourif In ‘Curse of Chucky’!!

Bloody Disgusting reader ‘Kurewka’ just sent us the first ever look at Don Mancini’s Curse of Chucky, which was rumored for release on September 24, 2013 from Universal. A second update has come in Friday night as we’re told by inside sources the date may/should be changing. Hold for official news coming soon.

The still displays leading lady, Fiona Dourif, talking to a Good Guys doll. Fiona is daughter to Brad Dourif, who has voiced Chucky in all six Child’s Play films. The photo cracks me up as “Chucky” has his own chair (even though the names are typically on the back).

In the latest installment, “Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

Don Mancini is the creator of the Child’s Play franchise and has written/or directed all of the sequels.

Here’s the first leaked look at the new Chucky. And here’s an interview we just shared with Fiona, exclusive to Bloody Disgusting!

YES! I’m so happy Chucky is back to his old looks, I just hope that they at least acknowledge Bride & Seed, rather than pretending they never happened. Hope this gets some major publicity too, because Chucky is way better than direct to video/VOD. Fingers crossed!

Actually this movie takes place sometime after part 3, so Tiffany and Glen wouldn’t be mentioned in it, but I’m glad to see him looking like the original again too, not the stitched up face

Mancini said this is an official sequel and Tiffany and Glen aren’t part of this, so they’re ‘alternate sequels’ I guess and should be treated as such.

he’s so cute and has such pretty hair. lol.

i’m sorry i just don’t see what’s “scary” about a doll like this. but i hope this movie is good (for those who like the CHUCKY franchise).

    • Taboo

I grew up watching Chucky so I guess it was quite traumatizing back then. I was so scared to go to the bathroom or sleeping alone jaja. Not everyone is the same though.

      • djblack1313

Taboo, no, i understand. we all like what we like. again, i hope the movie turns out good for you guys! 🙂

        • Taboo

Yeah I really hope so too.

    • Milk

I am the same as Taboo. I saw Child’s Play when I was 5 and really was traumatized for many years after it. That’s why I am a fan and why it was scary. If I saw it for the first time now I would just laugh.

  • lhcameron

WAIT!!! Jennifer Tilly confirmed it??? Does this mean she’s back ???????

    • Kroork

I would more or less just say she’s supportive of the movie

  • F13 FanAtic

Is it still going straight to video?

  • Taboo

I’m mad this won’t be playing in theaters(?) :S

  • ThunderDragoon

Maybe if it gets enough hype, we’ll at least get a limited theatrical run. Either way, I’m very excited for it.

  • Flight180Victm

This movie is going to be so great! I’m so glad he’s not going to have those over the top stitches anymore. Classic Chucky was way scarier! I just wish it was going to theaters, Chucky deserves it…
