6 Indie Horror Games You Need To Play!

Among the Sleep

Ever wonder how horrifying life can be as a toddler? Most of us have long forgotten how scary life can be at that age, where thunder isn’t thunder, it’s the booming sound the giant googly-eyed monster who lurks under your crib makes before it eats you delicate face.

Among the Sleep aims to ever-so-gently place us into the footie pajamas of a 3 1/2 year-old child who’s alone in a house at night during a thunderstorm. Is it all a dream, is your mind playing tricks on you, or was that shadowy figure really there? This is one of the most original indie horror games I’ve ever played, and I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on the full game.

DreadOut

Ah, yes, DreadOut

Fatal Frame fans have had it tough. That is, unless you live in Japan, because the series hasn’t left that wacky place in ages. But you know what? I don’t even care, because I have DreadOut. It takes that same concept — take pictures of ghosts in eerie environments — and adds a bit of Indonesian flavor. It plays great, looks fantastic, and it’s very scary.
