Twisted Music Video Of The Week Vol. 91: Rammstein “Mein Teil”

It’s Friday and I want this weekend to be something that I either remember for a very long time or one that I forget quite quickly. I want it to be wild, crazy, and hectic. I think that’s why I fell upon the classic Rammstein video for “Mein Teil”, the band’s first single from their Reise, Reise album.

Inspired by the case of Armin Meiwes and Bernd Jürgen Armando Brandes, whereupon Meiwes killed and ate Brandes (who gave his permission), the song has been met with great amounts of controversy since its release. As a matter of fact, MTV Germany restricted the video, allowing it to only show after 11pm.

Head on below to watch this fantastic, demented, nightmare of a music video!

Great post mate. I love this video but if I might say I would also recomend ‘Stripped’ (more for the footage used on it, than for actual twisted content), ‘Sonne’ (a Snow-White with deep problems…) and Rosenrot (a priest (?) that falls in love for a young girl and then, well… you got to see the rest).

Cheers and keep up the good work!

If you like the original, check out this fan video I put together for the “You Are What You Eat remix” version, using footage from the animated films of Jan Svankmajer. The song and the animations are both about themes of cannibalism and gluttony, so I thought they complimented each other well.
