First Look At ‘Hunger Games’-esque ‘The Maze Runner’

The Hunger Games fans should pay attention as MTV shared the first ever stills from The Maze Runner, fighting into theaters February 14, 2014 from Twentieth Century Fox.

The film is still in production as the first stills show “Teen Wolf’s” Dylan O’Brien and his young co-stars, including Kaya Scodelario and Aml Ameen. From an image of a visibly injured Thomas, to a gang of boys running to the supposed safety of the sky-scraping structure, the tenor of these images is clear: danger lurks around every corner.

Based on the young-adult novel by James Dashner, “The Maze Runner” centers around teen Thomas (O’Brien), who awakens in a rusty elevator with no memory of who he is. What he does come to find out is that he’s been delivered to the middle of an intricate maze, along with a slew of other boys, who have been trying to find their way out of the ever-changing labyrinth — all the while establishing a functioning society within the enclosure they’ve come to call “The Glade.”

Wes Ball directs with Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster starring.

It’s a little more than just that..I haven’t personally read the books yet, but from what my sister has told me it’s nothing like Cube. The description for the movie is fairly vague (and it does sound like Cube with the way it’s written)..But yeah, it’s a lot more than people in tight spaces and killer door ways.

I am super excited for this movie. I have all four books (one is a prequel) and they are great, I couldn’t put it down! It is nothing like Cube….its not really like the HUnger Games either.

    I can’t wait! :)

WOW. This movie looks so promising. Everything for this movie has been spot on. Looks just how I read it. Every character in the novel is in the movie. They will have the slang. Just perfect. One of my most anticipated films of 2014. The only change so far I could find is SPOILER ALERT: They won’t be called wicked they will be called wickd to help keep it a mystery. Kinda sucks cause I want the line wicked is good. It’s kinda like the May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favor of this series. Also as a marketing strategy they will not be giving away the look of the grievers. Which I think is brilliant. I want them to be so scary the 1st time I see it. SPOILER ALERT OVER!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I’m laughing at the Cube references cause I never thought of Cube while reading it but I can see a non reader of these books would make that comparison.
