‘Metal Gear’ Creator Tweets A Glowing Review Of ‘Pacific Rim’

If you aren’t already sufficiently excited for Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim’ — a film, nay, an experience about giant robots fighting equally as giant monsters — a handful of glowing tweets from Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima aren’t likely to change your mind on it.

If you’re like me and everything about this movie just screams awesome to you, then I suggest reading what Kojima had to say about the film. It’s spoiler free, and he somehow manages to find a way to make me even more excited to see it. July 12th really can’t come soon enough.

Who plans on seeing this when it opens next week?

You know I’ve been dying to see this movie since I heard the first rumblings of its production. It feels like I’ve been waiting forever, made worse by the fact that my stupid ass thought it was being released tonite. When I went online to see what the times were for showings and saw the release date was for the 12th, I was like fuck haven’t we waited long enough.

It’s my belief that hell is just thinking Pacific Rim is out, only to find out it isn’t when you try and purchase tickets.

      • that, my friend, is truly horrifying

Five minutes later I found myself still trying to wrap my head around what you did there. lol

  • kojima loves it… I tried to throw money at the screen but nothing is happening…

Very cool to see Kojima embrace this movie. July 12th couldn’t come soon enough for me.

This film is going to rock! People start complaining that special effects look terrible -wtf? and the plot is meh. I do not care about the plot although Del Toro has managed to make his characters more human in all of his films than the average blackbuster ones. The designs on this one look increible and finally its good to hear the positive reviews!

I worked on Pacific rim and saw the film at a crew screening. The film is a masterpiece and you will need to see it at least 3 times to fully absorb the detail and scope of what my friend Guillermo has crafted…. enjoy

In what capacity did you work on this? Did you get to meet Simon Lee? I’m a big fan of his work, even did a digital version of his butterball design. Would love to hear more on this
