Update: Watch with the film’s first trailer here! Universal Home Entertainment has officially announced the release of Curse of Chucky, the sixth Child’s Play film following the 2004 Seed of Chucky, for VOD platforms September 24 and on Blu-ray and DVD October 8, 2013. In addition, Amazon also hypes a brand new box set titled “Chucky: The Complete Collection”! With the director list including Don Mancini, Jack Bender, John Lafia, Ronny Yu, and Tom Holland, it’s pretty clear that this collection will be killer, including Child’s Play 1-3, Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky and the newest Curse of Chucky, directed by franchise creator Don Mancini.

In addition to the art, we’ve also re-added the first stills that display the new Chucky doll, which is possessed by serial killer Charles Lee Ray (played and voiced by Brad Dourif).

In the sequel directed by creator Don Mancini, “Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

This is great news, I’m glad they included ‘Curse of Chucky’ in the blu-ray collection :-)

…Also, Amazon list Jennifer Tilly as one of the actors in ‘Curse of Chucky’? I’m pretty sure it’s a mistake, just thought I would point that out.

How does VOD even work? I’ve never done it before but I will to see Chucky even if it’s only a few days earlier than DVD, I’ve been waiting TOO LONG for a new Chucky flick! (Says the guy that used to be terrified of him when I was a kid lol)
