For the super fans, here’s the official theatrical poster for Don Mancini’s Curse of Chucky, the sixth Child’s Play film following the 2004 Seed of Chucky, will be arriving on various VOD platforms September 24 with a Blu-ray/DVD date slated for October 8. It’s the same as the home video cover art, only with a credit block.

Below is also the previously released trailer that gives us a solid look at the brand new Good Guys doll, which is possessed by serial killer Charles Lee Ray (played and voiced by Brad Dourif).

In the sequel directed by creator Don Mancini, “Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

Such a shame that this has to be straight to DVD. Well, hopefully the rumors are true that they’re going to remake Child’s Play for theaters after this. I think Curse of Chucky will really be a great end to the original franchise. So glad we didn’t have to end on the sour note that was Seed. Maybe we’ll finally see Chucky get what he’s wanted for 25 years. So excited for it. I really can’t wait to see it.

Not a big fan of the new look. I guess he does look more like a children’s toy.

He looks like he has fetal alcohol syndrome

Wait their going to remake Childs Play? They already have. Here it is. Same plot. Only one thing different and its something they always do with horror remakes(EVIL DEAD, The Thing, Hitcher etc) Gender reversal. If they do actually what they say in remaking it. Guarantee it will be a female. Instead of Andy it will be Andrea. But yet Carrie still stays the same. And this version of Chucky looks ridiculous. Just goes to show you that practical effects are always better then CGI.

I have to say I’m really impressed with the way the movie is going so far, most movies you can read the plot and see one trailer and you have the movie figured out but I have to say with this movie….. I got nothing, the plot says he is going to finish a job he started 20 years ago but what does that mean, in the first movie Charles got gunned down by a cop that he swore he would get revenge on him but wasn’t able to, also he needed Andy to become human again but also was never able to do so, so what is the job he needs to finish? After watching the trailer witch looks amazing it still gives no answers on why chunky is after this family but I’m also happy they haven’t given anything away because it makes me that much more excited to see this movie, I also want to know what everyone else thinks chunky is after. Also with his new look I was disappointed at first but after re-watching the trailer and seeing the old chunky I think he looks scarier, I’m so pumped to see this!

I’m really confused about The Curse. Is it meant to be an almost-but-not-exactly reboot (on terms that you’re supposed to forget everything that’s happened in the previous movies?) I mean, are we supposed to forget about his wife and son, does this go off of what happened in The Seed? Is it mostly stand-alone?
