New ‘Kick-Ass 2’ Poster Gives You Deja Vu

Talk about Deja Vu The latest poster for Kick-Ass 2 presents the cast of heroes, Hit-Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) and Colonel Stars & Stripes (Jim Carrey), and Kick-Ass himself (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) as well as villain The Mother F***er (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). I’m pretty sure that this is the same one they used on the last film, in terms of design. Still want to see the movie though.

Check out the poster below for Kick-Ass 2, which is set for release on August 14th, 2013.

why is Jim Carrey still on the poster. He wont promote the movie.

    • BabyJaneHudson

I was thinking that too – wonder if its the studio intentionally giving him a “screw you, we’re going to use you anyways”?

      • huntermc

He’s still one of the main characters in the movie, and I’m sure they paid good money to get his name on the marquee. Even if he refuses to do press for the movie, they’re still going to use his name and image as long as they have the right to.

        • Spike0037

he tweeted (I did Kickass a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence.) then (I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart.) but he still has the money. So why not give that money back Or donate it.

I was thinking the same…but since he bitched before the movie was released…which shouldn’t hurt it…but, they probably still need his name to draw people in. Myself, I would have pulled him from the poster.

Ironically, his stance will end up making more people interested.

  • ill_mindedd

    im so excited for this!

  • Milk

    wow they look so photoshopped.

    • horrorking95

Yeah, not too keen on this poster either.

They look airbrushed to the point of plastic and it seems very generic. However, I am really looking forward to the film though!

      • weresmurf

        It’s not airbrushed, it’s just amazingly low-res.

  • magicjaguar

The poster works, I guess. Nothing special though. Really hope this is as good as the first. If it is anywhere close to the source material, we’re in for a fucked up ride.

I like how the poster pays homage to the first Kick-Ass film, but I’m really not too happy with the design choices for any of the Kick-Ass 2 posters. It seems like with a lot of the posters, they tried to choose a simplistic design but then edited it to the point where it just seems like a crowded mess. Also, everyone’s faces look more like cardboard cutouts rather than the actual actors.
