Director Gareth Edwards took a moment to pause production from the set of Godzilla to share a video message for those of you attending the San Diego Comic-Con. In the below video, he teases a huge surprise, which hopefully will be the teaser trailer for the big green machine’s return to theaters May 16, 2014.
Says Deadline, Legendary has set up a viral website reminiscent of the kind of thing we see every Christmas from NORAD that tracks a strange object originating from the North Pole. This new site has various pseudo-official like warnings of “oceanic anomaly” and the like. Also, a building on the city’s 7th Avenue and J Street has been decorated in very Godzilla-like graphics, they explain.
An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure allegedly pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. It’s said to be extremely different from Pacific Rim.
