Bloody Disgusting has a really cool exclusive sketch/concept art from Dark Sky Films and writer-director Richard Raaphorst’s Frankenstein’s Army on VOD and in select cities July 26th. The below piece of behind-the-scenes art features the film’s creature Zombots, “Mosquito Man”.
“In the waning days of World War II, a battalion of Russian soldiers find themselves lost in enemy territory. Stumbling upon a village decimated by an unseen terror, they discover that a mad scientist (Hellboy’s Karel Roden) conducts experiments to fuse flesh and steel, creating an unstoppable army of undead soldiers. Leaderless and faced with dissention amongst their dwindling ranks, they must find the courage to face down an altogether new menace – or die trying. “
Viktor long-knew that if the Waffen-SS discovered who was behind Mosquito Man’s mask, his relationship with them would crumble. Once a close friend of Adolf Hitler, commander Felix Eicke was sent to oversee the doctor’s work – but when accidentally electrocuted during a reanimation test, Viktor quickly fabricated a story that the military leader had fled into the countryside. In truth, the dead commander’s skull was hollowed out and filled with machinery capable of powering a deadly, flesh-rending drill.
