The Conjuring is a damn good ghost story. I think it’s easily one of the best supernatural thrillers in years (if not a decade). Late last month I headed to San Francisco to chat with the film’s cast and crew. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson were in especially good spirits, though Farmiga was reticent to give away one of her secrets to being scared on camera. After the interview she showed me her inspiration on her iPhone, but I was sworn to secrecy.
“The Conjuring tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.” In theaters July 19th, the film stars “Bates Motel’s” Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor, Joey King, Shanley Caswell, Haley McFarland, Mackenzie Foy, Kyla Deaver and Sterling Jerins.
