Venom Returns As A Villain In ‘The Superior Spider-Man’

Venom’s been kicking around the Marvel U doing more good than bad recently, but writer Dan Slott has plans to change that in November. How will Otto Octavius fight off the black space goo? Your guess is as good as mine, but I’m hoping the symbiote really kicks his ass.

“Be warned—we have some nasty stuff planned,” said series writer Dan Slott. “Venom always brings out Spider-Man’s dark side, and we’re taking that 10 steps further in this latest arc. You should probably read this in a sunny, well-populated area.”

“There is no better brawl to get the blood pumping like a showdown between Spider-Man and Venom,” said Marvel Senior Editor Steve Wacker. “Now that Otto’s in the driver’s, we can see these two clash with a viciousness we’ve never seen before. Believe me when I say we’ve been saving up for this one!”

This has me pumped. The possibilities are limitless. Venom should easily be able to deduce that Spidey is not himself. I really hope that the writers and artists fulfill the promise of this incredibly intriguing premise!

I don’t read much super hero stuff any more but this book is great. It may be a bit superficial in the “wonder what bizarre things he will do this issue” but to me its a really fresh take on the character and is very entertaining. Pretty sure that Parker will be back in time for the next ASM movie though.
