Update: We’ve also included director Fede Alvarez’s newly released VHS box art that he himself designed. Check it out below the trailer!

There’s something really nostalgic and warming for me when I see an old school trailer. I love the cheesiness of the narrator, the gritty and grimy quality, and the aged sound. That’s why I was so taken by this re-imagined Evil Dead trailer by YouTube user P. Parker, which takes the footage of the 2013 film and gives it the look of being a trailer on an old VHS tape.

P. Parker also took the audio from the 1981 Sam Raimi-directed original, adding to that “old-school” feel.

Check it out below!

    thats pretty neat.

If the movie had been good, I could see going to the trouble of doing something like this. But for a piece of shit like this remake? Um . . . no. Colossal waste of time and resources.

That was well done. Very nice job.

Nice. But where the hell is the unrated cut (which was promised) with the scene with david and the chainsaw?! Looks amazing, and not only that, it made a hole in the movie, ’cause what happened to Natalie? She just vanished.
