Early Concepts For ‘The Conjuring’s’ Creepy Annabelle Doll!

James Wan’s The Conjuring will always be remembered for the “Annabelle Doll,” the haunted doll that’s used in the film’s wrap around tale. It’s causing people to deem the haunter as “too scary.”

But before it was what you saw on screen, Italian artist Luca Nemolato created some earlier concepts that ultimately weren’t used in the supernatural tale that’s been kicking ass in the box office (it’s approaching $100M).

Dig on ’em below.

Based on a true story, The Conjuring tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.

i like the doll they ended up with in the movie. it was freaky as fuck!

I agree. The dolls above wouldnt have made as big as an impact imo. The doll they ended up with was so scary because she was still in good shape, but the color of her skin made her look possessed lol and those eyes!

TOTALLY!! those fucking eyes!! so creepy!

I still cant believe this piece of shit is getting so much recognition when Sinister was a way more deserving of the hype and an original story with good suspense and tension building. This movie focuses on cheap scares and this movie has been made a million times! The same story the same ending same recycled shit.

Ruben, i agree overall that this movie doesn’t deserve the praise/hype it’s getting. it’s not a bad movie but it’s not scary and brings nothing new to the table. it DOES have excellent acting and good cinematography. Vera Farmiga was amazing.

I respectfully disagree. Sinister was one of the most disappointing horror films I’ve ever went to see at the movies. For me it just wasn’t executed well.

regarding SINISTER, i loved it the first time i watched it but i literally just tried watching it yesterday and it bored and annoyed me (TURN ON SOME FUCKING LIGHTS IN YOUR HOUSE ASSHOLE!! lol). i DO love the family movies/snuff films though.

Sinister was an utter chumbucket of shit and squalor. THE biggest bait and switch easily of 2012, and the worst horror movie of the year. Fucking PA4 was better made, partly because it had actual scares. Sinister had nothing, zilch. Not so much as one scare or tense moment. The Conjuring is the type of movie Sinister wishes it could be.

      • djblack1313

yeah, but unfortunately THE CONJURING wasn’t scary either.

        • Kwonkicker

I disagree. This was definitely a very tense and genuinely scary film.

Sinister is a horrible fuckin movie. The only highlight(s) of the movie is the when you see the reels. The story, the characters, the acting, the horrible CG and jumpscares(interestingly enough, less than The Conjuring)…. PIECE OF SHIT.
