The ‘Poltergeist’ Remake Might Star Sam Rockwell

The Wrap is reporting that actor Sam Rockwell (Moon, Iron Man 2) is in talks to star in the upcoming Poltergeist remake, which will be produced by Sam Raimi and Nathan Kahane and is directed by Gil Kenan. The Wrap adds that Rockwell is “…the filmmakers’ top choice” and he seems to be returning that interest. Rockwell’s team has not issued any statement regarding this.

Rockwell would be starring opposite Rosemarie DeWitt, who is confirmed as the lead in the film.

In a revisionist take on the classic horror film, a family struggling to make ends meet relocates to an outdated suburban home and is confronted by an angry spirit who kidnaps their youngest daughter and challenges them to band together to rescue her from the clutches of evil.

Moon is one of my favorite films ever made so I will definitley have to check this out.

They could cast Tom Hanks, Leo DiCaprio, and a nude Sofia Vergara and I still wouldn’t touch this remake with a ten foot pole. As great and classic as Evil Dead is, there was at least an opportunity for updating the low budget effects and taking the series in another direction. There is simply no need for a rebooted Poltergeist.

Now to be fair, as lame and non needed as this seems….a Nude Sofia Vergara would probably be the only thing that would make me sit through the train wreck this movie will most likely become 😛 just sayin…hahaha

I certainly wouldn’t begrudge you that. I mean, I REALLY want to see a nude Sofia Vergara, and was using the post to show the heights of my displeasure. Turning down a non-nude Vergara (and Hanks and DiCaprio heading an actal horror film) would be very hard to do.

But even then I might avoid it….
