Veteran scream queen Danielle Harris (Halloween) makes her directorial debut with the horror thriller Among Friends arriving on DVD, Digital Download and Video on Demand August 27 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment (cover art, trailer and stills).

Also starring Harris, the film features a murder mystery night gone awry for a group of friends when someone decides to use the evening for revenge.

We caught up with Harris and decided to do something a bit different – instead of a typical interview, we asked the Scream Queen to tell us her five favorite horror films, and why. So after watching Among Friends, you can theme your night and enjoy some of Harris’ fav. as well!

Poltergeist

“I was Carol Anne’s age about the time that I first saw Poltergeist. My mom bought me my first TV soon after and and every time I flipped by this static channel I’d freak out! I forget what the channel was, but it came right after 13!

I did a MOW directed by Jo Beth Williams husband, and when she came to set one day I totally freaked out.”

Gremlins

“This was the very first horror movie I ever saw! At the Drive-In actually!! My fiancé recently bought me a Gremlin that was used as a prop in the movie. Old school 3-D glasses and all!!! Now I just need Gizmo…and maybe Spike too…”

Piranha (1978)

“His movie would explain my fear of fish!! Joe Dante directed an episode of “Eerie Indiana” that I guest starred in and I just adore him!! Even though he scarred me for life as a child.”

The Descent

“This movie scared the crap out of me! I love bad ass chick movies and this is a gem. I’d never be able to be an actor in this movie bc of the small spaces, but I’d love to work with the director!”

Halloween (1978)

“Come on…you guys know I had to go there!!”
