IDC Films has acquired all US rights to Mac Carter’s genre title Haunt, starring Jacki Weaver, reports ScreenDaily. IFC will release the similarly titled Haunter, starring Abigail Breslin this October.
At time of writing IFC Midnight had not set a theatrical release date for Haunt, which “centers on a boy who gets involved with a mysterious neighbor when his family moves into a new home and unwittingly summons a demon.” Harrison Gilbertson and Liana Liberato also star.
Andrew Barrer wrote the screenplay to the QED International, Rivergate Entertainment and Revolver Picture Company production.
