[TV Bites] Casting For “”The Strain” and “High Moon”; Two “Sleepy Hollow” Promos

Deadline reports on two pieces of television casting as Canadian actress Natalie Brown (pictured above; “Being Human”) has booked the FX pilot “The Strain,” directed by Guillermo del Toro. “It tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the head of the Centers for Disease Control Canary Team who are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism.” Brown will play Eph’s ex-wife Kelly Goodweather fails to heed her husband’s warning about the contagion spreading in Manhattan. She replaces Lauren Lee Smith who was originally cast in the role.

In other pilot castings, Constance Wu (“Covert Affairs”) has been cast in Bryan Fuller’s 90-minute Syfy pilot “High Moon,” which “explores what happens when the countries of Earth establish colonies to mine the moon’s resources and discover a new form of life.” Wu will play the recurring role of Mikiko, the technically savvy and sole living being in the otherwise fully automated Japanese base.

Lastly, FOX shared a pair of new promos for “Sleepy Hollow,” the first being about the secret life of President George Washington – the revolution wasn’t merely a war for the future of our country…it would determine the fate of every man, woman and child on Earth, they tease – the other a “Behind the Scenes “Remix”, which takes you deep into the modern-day retelling of Washington Irving’s classic short story. “Sleepy Hollow” premieres September 16.
