“Sopranos” star Drea de Matteo, pictured, has joined the cast of indie thriller Dark Places, opposite Charlize Theron and Chloe Grace Moretz, writes Variety.
Exclusive Media made the announcement on the opening day of Toronto, where it is introducing the project to buyers.
The story, based on “Gone Girl” author Gillian Flynn’s novel, “centers on a woman who survived the massacre of her family as a young girl and testified against her brother. She’s confronted 25 years later by a secret society obsessed with solving notorious crimes.”
Dark Places is shooting on location in Shreveport, La., with Gilles Paquet-Brenner directing from his own script. It also stars Christina Hendricks, Corey Stoll, Tye Sheridan and Sterling Jerins.
