‘Jurassic Park’ Opens Its Gates in 2015 As ‘Jurassic World’!!

Variety just broke the news that, on the same day Disney takes Pirates of the Caribbean 5 off its 2015 calendar, Universal Pictures has dated Jurassic World, the next installment in the Jurassic Park franchise, for June 12, 2015.

Colin Trevorrow will direct with a screenplay he co-wrote with Derek Connolly.

Plot details have not been released, but the new title does sort of imply that maybe there have been some major story arc tweaks. It was to be allegedly be about an actual, operational theme park. More details as Universal announces.

Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley will produce.

Hopefully this means we’ll be getting a really good movie. I’m very excited for this.

JP is one of the best films of all time. Timeless adventure, great characters, brilliant set pieces. But JP3 was so stale and boring, I am not sure if I want to see another one. But I would be lying since dinosaurs are always cool! Make it like the first one – no over-abundance of characters and special effects! Please!

So fucking excited for this! If they’re able to pull off a movie that pays homage to the original while taking it’s own marvelously creative route then it could end up being one of the best films of 2015…if we’re lucky. While I’m very happy at the news of Jurassic World, I’m also really worried that they’ll fuck it up.
