[TV] Jamie Lee Curtis, Steve Miner Reunite For “The Final Girls”!

ABC Family has closed a deal for a high-profile horror spec script by writer Jeff Dixon, which has Halloween‘s Jamie Lee Curtis, pictured, attached to star and Friday the 13th Part 2 and Halloween H20‘s Steve Miner to direct and executive produce if the project goes to pilot, says Deadline.

This would mark a reunion and return to the horror genre for the Halloween H2O star Curtis and its director Miner.

Titled “The Final Girls,” the drama revolves around a group of girls who have, in essence, survived their own personal horror stories and are brought together by a mysterious older woman (Curtis) to channel the stress and scars of their experience for some greater good.

While there is no green light yet for the project, they hear it is being put on a fast track.

ABC Family has been getting some great talent lately like Mick Garris. He just directed an episode of Pretty Little Liars which is jam packed with Hitchcock and other horror references.

This sounds really awesome, but would make this even more amazing would be if Jamie was playing Laurie Strode. This could be their chance to completely write off Halloween Resurrection like it never happened. Please make this happen! It would work so well because that plot is basically screaming that. Jamie’s the leader in this group of survivors. It’s so perfect. I might be reading too much into this, but the potential is really huge here. They just have to pull it off the right way. Sorry, huge Halloween fan here, so I had to let this out lol.
