UK alt-rockers Anathema have released a video of their live performance of “Universal”, which you can watch below. The stream comes from the band’s live DVD/Blu-ray Universal, which was filmed at the ancient Roman theatre of Philippopolis where the band was joined by the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra to kick off a lengthy world tour in support of its most successful album Weather Systems (review). The live concert was directed by Lasse Hoile (Porcupine Tree, Opeth) and can be purchased here.

Make sure to check out our exclusive news about their upcoming as-yet-untitled album here.

Just finished watching this, got my copy yesterday, what an amazing setting for an amazing performance. Really nailed Dreaming Light, probably my favorite from the show. Wish they would have performed a little closer where I could catch them live, but I guess this is the next best thing.

I got to see them a week-ish ago and they were incredible. I still have yet to see this live concert but it’s on my list for the near future.
