Bleeding Cool reports that John Layman will be leaving “Detective Comics”, with Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato set to take over after concluding their run on “The Flash”. John Layman is apparently readying himself to begin a new project with DC, which will be announced at NYCC.
“Detective Comics” has been struggling since the launch of the New 52, lacking any real direction. John Layman definitely did some good work, but perhaps the Manapul/Buccellato team is just what the book needs to make it a premiere Bat-title again. No news on where artist Jason Fabok will be after the new team takes over.
