Epic Pictures Releasing has launched the official website and a new contest for Big Ass Spider!, the movie that features a giant arachnid terrorizing Los Angeles. While I almost lose my lunch just by seeing a spider, some of you guys have the chance to win a stack of cash by filming your own spider videos; click here for all of the details. They are offering $5,000 in cash and prizes sponsored by Western Exterminator.

“We have had an overwhelming response from fans of the film and thought it would be an amazing opportunity to pay them back for all their support,” explains Epic Pictures producers Patrick Ewald and Shaked Berenson. “We also thought it would be a great chance to encourage any aspiring filmmakers to get their work seen by a panel of really cool celebrity judges.”

Judges include Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II-IV, Repo!), Neil Marshall Dog Soldiers, The Descent), Llyod Kaufman (Toxic Avenger), and Sam Gorski and Niko Pueringer of Corridor Digital!

Mike Mendez’s (Real Killers, The Gravedancers) creature comedy will go out simultaneously in theaters and on VOD on October 18.
