‘Resident Evil 7’ Outed By Costume Designer’s Resume

It should come as no surprise that Capcom has another Resident Evil in production, but if a costume designer’s LinkedIn resume is correct, work began on the game as early as last year.

The online resume of a former employee of the motion capture studio House of Moves — which has games like Halo: Reach, God of War III and Dead Space 2 in its portfolio — says the costume designer worked on Resident Evil 7 for a period of three months, from November 2012 to January 2013. More after the jump.

While a post on a designer’s LinkedIn page is hardly confirmation of a Resident Evil 7, which Capcom has yet to officially announce, we already know they’re at least planning it. After the lukewarm reception of Resident Evil 6 — which we liked — the next entry is supposed to be another reboot that will bring the franchise closer to its roots in survival horror.

Capcom wasn’t happy with the critical or commercial reception Resident Evil 6 received,. It’s Metacritic average ranges from 68-74 and sold 4.9 million copies, down from their 7 million target. I sincerely hope that’s enough to motivate them to turn things around and take the cries of their many remaining fans into account with Resident Evil 7.

Dear Capcom, if you need something to help guide you through the development of this next game, I’ve already outlined some things I’d like to see from it. I suggest you give it a read, if you have a few minutes to spare. – xoxo, Adam

Im a fan of Leon okay? but i REALLY miss some of the strong female lead presence on the games. I would like Claire Redfield, or Rebecca Chambers (or even Jill Valentine) to lead this new entry!!!

I fully support this! I’d also like Sheva to return, I liked her in Resident Evil 5.

I really, really want to like the next one but I’ve lost touch. I’m extremely happy with 1 – 3, REmake, and the Outbreaks. Everything else had gotten too silly and fantastical to work for me. I highly doubt the series will come back to horror the way I like it, but I’m still holding out some hope.

If there’s a god, RE7 will depict Barry Burton and Rebecca Chambers fighting zombie dogs and birds and yetis in the Canadian wilderness.

Haha! Man, I couldn’t agree more! This would be awesome! I love Barry! XD
