2014 is going to start off with a bang with not one, but two horror movies blasting into theaters everywhere.

Just yesterday we showed you the art and trailer for Fox’s Devil’s Due (in theaters January 17), but before they give birth to terror Paramount Pictures kicks off the New Year with Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones on January 3, 2014.

Written and directed by Christopher Landon, and starring Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts, and Eddie J. Fernandez, Paramount has released the official trailer for the Latino-themed haunter Thursday morning. Unlike the previous entries, there’s quite a bit of footage that really digs into the mythology, while also sharing an assault of scary footage. It looks like this one has an exorcism in it, maybe?

Upload a photo of paranormal activity in your city to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram tagging your city and #TheMarkedOnes for a chance to see The Marked Ones first!

Keep up with Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones at Official website, Official Facebook, Official Twitter, and Official Instagram.

It’s cool, but I doubt any of that will actually be in the film.

Here is my problem with this: I don’t know if I can trust a PA’s trailer, since it has happened before that, they show some very interesting stuff in the trailer, and them, they don’t exist in the movie.

And I wonder, also, are we finally going to get some answers about the sister and the demon and what the hell is going on? Or this movie is just going to add more questions than answers?

I can give it a try, tho, but, I don’t know, I’m afraid this movie series is going to end with a lot of plot holes.

    THIS LOOKS SO GOOD.
    They just keep getting better.
    I’m so happy!

  • Resident-Zombie

I’m in agreement that 90% of this won’t actually happen in the movie. I understand why they removed the bloody Mary segment out of PA3, but to have it in the movie’s trailer doesn’t give them much promise in regards to future PA movies. It didn’t even appear in the DC.

I did enjoy PA4, and was hoping for more Katie, but if this offers more backstory to what’s happening then I can’t wait for it! I guess this’ll be something like what Genesis is to the [REC] series.

Another year another shitty PA movie. Whoopiedoo. But this looks pretty interesting but like everyone else is saying all they are showing will either be the best parts and towards the end of the film. Or won’t exist at all. I have given up hope on PA films after the last shitty piece of junk movie. Which should of never ever sucked after the brilliant 3rd one.

meh for me there is no point in watching or them making a movie where a lot if filmed by the people unless they seem like they are not just actors

these scream actors so it just makes it crap

  • Oy vey. My big problem with PA trailers is, they give away TOO much of the good stuff you’ll see in the movie. And as others said, PA pulled the bait-and-switch trick by showing you stuff in the trailers, that didn’t appear in the actual movie before.

I’m one of the people, who reallyyyy hated PA 4, so I’m not too excited for another PA film. IMO, the franchise is running on life support now, so I don’t know if a spin-off/prequel will help anything, because I think it’s safe to say PA is reaching a too little, too late point for saving the franchise. If they did this after PA 2 or PA 3, then there’s a chance I would have some real interest in this film. But now? Not so much.

The acting looks pretty bad. I wonder how many more PAs they’re going to make.

Okay here’s my thing…EVERY PA movie i have defended RELENTLESSLY. Even though deep down i’d know it looks terrible, 4 in particular. And here comes this one…which once again the trailer makes look like it will be pretty good…but im not gonna have any high hopes for it. Plus we all know how January horror movies usually FLOP…but we’ll see. Hoping for the best. the last minute of the trailer looks intense

I live in Oxnard California and wow they’re making it look like its a hell whole here (no pun intended). Its really not that bad at all. But all the inaccuracies aside, this looks horrible honestly. Ugh Paranormal Activity should be over with already.

  • fmyers1

UNBELIEVABLE AWFUL. What the fuck was that?! The 4th one was terrible… they should just stop.

  • ill_mindedd

i’ll give it a watch. it cant be any worse then PA4.

  • dabay

Looks better then 4 so I’ll give it a shot…

  • RubenVeritas

This is ridiculous Paranormal Activity: GOES MEXICAN. I am Mexican and I find this so fucking stupid and stereotyping Latinos with gang relations.

  • ThunderDragoon

Looks better than 3 and 4. I’m in.

  • DBZEROGRAVITY

i’m guessing the studio picked up on a demographic now… the first 3 were good but the 4th was not needed. this one appears to dive deeper into “let’s ride this thing straight into the ground” territory

I actually really like the series, I’m a big found footage fan…yeah I have odd taste in movies. I really enjoyed 1-4 from a perspective of a found-footage fan. They’re not at all that scary to me, so as horror movies they are very mehhh to me. This one is the only one that I’m on the fence about. A 5th one that really looks like it’s spitting out the same shit again(The reason why I hate the SAW series) but there are a few things that seem like reasons why I would like it. 1: The teenager from the second one and the maid are back, I really liked her I dunno why(Some people thought she was annoying?) I thought she was cool and was glad she was the only one that didn’t die. 2: It seems to give us more of the “mythology” behind the movies, which I like the whole witches getup it’s just they haven’t played it out right in 1 single entry imo, three almost got it, but NO. This one might. 3: Demonic superpowers, yes…chronicle + paranormal activity could be cool but I doubt that’s what they are going for….all in all they probably won’t have a single shot from the trailer in the film and they will fuck it up, I will go see it in hopes that I am wrong but until they prove me wrong….I’m going to put my mourning face on and if this is it then hopefully they won’t make any more, if the series is going to get better, bring em on!

  • WalkWithMeInDarkness

This looks decent, but I thought the same thing about the other four and I hated them. Three had some promise, but overall, I’m just not into this franchise. But this is a decent trailer. Who knows? If I got bored and had a few extra bucks, maybe I’d see it. You know what, this and that Devil’s Due trailer have a very similar vibe. I’d go with Devil’s Due because I liked the V/H/S segment that Radio Silence did the most.

  • Darkness69

The part with the hair is disgusting, but the rest is not very promising.

  • Polsdofer

    lol fucking gay

  • AndrewSoukup24

I enjoyed PA1 and PA2 and I haven’ seen PA3 or PA4 yet cause I been too busy watching other movies but I do wanna check them out even though almost everyone hated PA4…..anyways this movie looks alright I will probably check it out sometime once its out on DVD.
