‘Ghostbusters 3’ Prepping To Shoot In Cleveland?

According to a film industry executive, Ghostbusters 3 is considering Cleveland as a location to shoot the third installment of Ghostbusters, says WKYC Ohio.

The movie is scheduled to be shot in 2014, they claim, with rumors swirling once again that Jonah Hill and Emma Stone have been offered the lead roles.

Ivan Reitman is directing, as Bloody Disgusting first reported, with rumors having Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis, and Sigourney Weaver all potentially returning. Bill Murray is the wild card with previous reports stating that they’ll move “with or without him”. He can always be dead like Andrian in Rocky Balboa.

In Columbia Pictures’ third film, a ragtag group of paranormal researchers reopen their notorious ghost removal service, and a new generation of Ghostbusters is brought on board to be green slimed and trained to contain the mischievous spirits. We previously reported that the new ‘Busters will be lead by Dana and Peter’s lovechild, Oscar.

They make these claims every Fall, and come Spring they will say they are filming in the Fall.

  • I guess I’m one of the few, who’s beyond excited Bill Murray won’t have a role or any involvement in part 3 whatsoever, one of (if not the most) overrated comedic actors ever.

Emma Stone and Jonah Hill are ideal candidates for leading roles, but until I actually see some set photos or a trailer, I’m beyond skeptical about Ghostbusters 3 actually happening.

“one of (if not the most) overrated comedic actors ever.”
And then you go on to say Emma Stone and Jonah Hill are ideal for leading roles…………………………….. (dots infinity)

      • Still believe Hill and Stone have more promising careers ahead of them at the moment. Bill Murray? He’s been living on his reputation alone for years now.

        • Rake

Murray has had a career for decades. He’s decided not to take big hollywood films because he doesn’t want to do them. Jonah Hill is already fading, being a seth rogan knock off will only get you so far without any talent. The very fact that murray can turn down a ghostbusters 3 shows that he doesn’t need it. If he’s been living on his reputation then why not use it to cash out? Ghostbusters 3 would pay more than all his Wes Anderson films combined.

          • Alright, you got me. Guess I get carried with my personal dislike of Murray sometimes.

I totally agree with you, I can not stand the man, hes just not funny and too irritating so im glad there is a big chance he wont be in it

I wish Bill Murray was in it, even if he just played a ghost that harassed the workers. You dont have to have all the original people there for the sequel to work, been so long since G2 that most people who will watch this wont even care. But this movie should be good if it ever gets made… not going to get excited until i see actual screenshots and set visits.

I mean really, what else is Bill Murray up to these days? If were him I’d relish the opportunity to get back out there in a movie people have been waiting on for years.

Bills a wise man. GB3 will most likely be waaaay inferior compared to any of Wes Andersons films.

Personally I enjoy the films Murrays taken in the past decade or so.

Wishful thinking, but i’d LOVE Rick Moranis to be involved in this.

So…is it actually going to be live action and not CGI?
