I am liking the chaotic vibe of desperation coming from the Governor here. It will be interesting to see how David Morrissey pulls his character off this time around.

I REALLY enjoyed the last episode. It was brisk, minimalistic and centering it on Herschell and his fight to conquer the flu the others were suffering from was a genius idea. The mass of zombie action, Carl and Rick finally getting back to what they should be doing, it centered all the characters perfectly. Season 4 has finally given The Walking Dead what it needed. A sense of purpose. They finally feel like they’re surviving, or at least surviving against, the world out there. The zombies feel like a threat again and with the Governor coming back and looking finally like a threat himself, I’m actually glad I’m watching it for once and anticipating the next episode…

Nice summary! Mentioning their surviving reminded me how fun it was to see the zombies come at them from within as well as from without.

Absolutely. It was great to finally feel threatened by them again. For too long it was ‘meh zombie. kill it.’ now it’s ‘Oh shit… zombie… worry.’ The new show runner Scott Gimple, is definitely a great choice.

weresmurf, i agree! this ep was especially good thanx in large part to the superb Scott Wilson as Hershel. Wilson makes anything good. i’m really enjoying this season. TBH, i wish they killed off The Governor last season. i’m perfectly happy this season without this stupid character. there’s enough going on that he’s really not needed IMO.

and is anyone else thinking it was the little girl (seen in the most recent ep) who killed Tyrese’s girlfriend & the other man (i forget their names) and that Carol covered for her? they are showing her for a reason.

      • David

i thought the little girl too. but for a second in sundays episode i wondered if it was maybe maggie. simply because her reaction to finding out and tone seemed a little “she covered for me?” but i quickly went back to the killer being the kid again. not that i think carol was completely innocent. she obviously had to drag the bodies out since that kid isnt strong enough to do it.

      • weresmurf

I think the little girl knifed them and Carol disposed of them, that makes Carol as culpable as the girl though for covering up for her unfortunately.

Oh and from what I’ve heard, we’re bound to like this ‘unchained Governor’ a LOT more. Scott Gimple decided the Governor should be a badass, not a politician this time around.
