Joe Dante Returns To Horror With ‘Burying The Ex’!

Published

on

I dug Joe Dante’s last film, The Hole, but it looks like he’s veering away from the more kid-friendly spooks of that film to a slightly more mature setting in Burying The Ex. Granted, this guy directed Gremlins and Gremlins 2 so I’m sure it’ll still be fun (and the synopsis sounds like it’s the right kind of twisted and pleasing).

Per The Wrap, Voltage Pictures will finance the film which stars Anton Yelchin (Fright Night 2011), Ashley Greene (The Apparition), Alexandra Daddario (TCM 3D) and Oliver Cooper (Project X).

The film, currently shooting in Los Angeles, “follows Max (Yelchin) and Evelyn (Greene) as their relationship takes a nose dive once they move in together. Max discovers how controlling and manipulative Evelyn is but he’s too scared to break up with her. When fate steps in and Evelyn dies in a freak accident, newly-single Max prepares to move on with Olivia (Daddario). His romantic life becomes complicated when Evelyn rises from the grave and sets out to get her boyfriend back, even if that means turning him into one of the undead.

Can’t wait.
