Because of my love for Scary Movie, I was genuinely excited for Marlon Wayans’ A Haunted House. It was easily one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. But it made crazy bank at the box office, quickly sending a sequel into production.
EW shared the teaser trailer for A Haunted House 2, which moves into a new house with Marlon Wayans, Jaime Pressly, Gabriel Iglesias, Ashley Rickards, Essence Atkins, Affion Crockett, and Dave Sheridan. The footage carries a ton of screaming and racial humor, which was one of the biggest issues with the first film. It’s sort of shocking that Wayans forgets why Scary Movie was so funny, and instead uses cheap racial stereotypes to get laughs. This already looks like an epic fail…
In theaters March 28, “After losing his possessed girlfriend Kisha in a car crash, Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) meets and falls for Megan, a single white mother of two. As he moves into a new home with the family, Malcolm discovers bizarre paranormal events surrounding the children and the property. To complicate matters, a back-from-the-dead Kisha moves in across the street, and there’s nothing worse than the scorn of a demonic ex-girlfriend…
With spine-tingling tension and hilarious punch-lines A Haunted House 2 spoofs supernatural horror movie hits such as Paranormal Activity 4, Sinister, The Possession, Insidious, The Conjuring, and more. This time… it’s not just the house that’s haunted!“
