‘The Consuming Shadow’ Blends Roguelikes With Lovecraftian Horror

Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw is a man of many talents. You probably know him from his Zero Punctuation reviews, but what you may not know is he’s also an indie game designer and a longtime fan of the survival horror genre. His point-and-click Chzo Mythos series had elements of Lovecraftian horror, as does his latest project, a horror roguelike (think FTL and The Binding of Isaac) called The Consumed Shadow.

I think we can all agree that there can never be enough video games inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, and this looks pretty neat. You can grab it here, but first, you should learn all about it.
