Twenty years ago some of the hottest creators in comics, Todd McFarlane, Rob Liefeld, Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri, Erik Larsen, Whilce Portacio, and Jim Valentino, up and left Marvel in order to form their publishing company that would come to be known as Image Comics. Now, Image is the chief creator-owned publisher in the industry, continually pumping out hits like “The Walking Dead”, “Saga”, “Wanted”, “Spawn”, and more.
HOT documentary The Image Revolution tells the story of Image Comics, stretching back to its inception, all the way through to the 2000s. Directed by Patrick Meaney (Grant Morrison: Talking with Gods, Warren Ellis: Captured Ghosts), the doc features the ever-amusing Rob Liefeld and other Image founding fathers.
