Introducing the NuHo Film Festival – Online, and In Theaters!

This year introduces the NuHo Online Film Festival onto the world.

The inaugural NuHo Online Film Festival is a whole new experience for both filmmakers and audiences. The 2013 NuHo Online Film Festival brings the full festival experience to audiences in the comfort of home. The first film festival offering exposure and a revenue share program to filmmakers.

The festival has already been launched. One of the films screening is Dave Parker’s Coldwater, screening at the Crest Theater in Westwood on January 9th.

In the film, “Andre, recovering from a recent accident, agrees to help his friend Robert by taking over a house sitting job at an unusual home nestled in the heart of ColdWater Canyon. As the day turns into night, Andre experiences strange occurrences that lead him to believe he is not alone, and that someone or something is watching him.

‘Drop’ – Violett Beane Joins the Cast of Christopher Landon’s New Thriller

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
