Poster For ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’ Gives Some Names In The Rain

Following the groundbreaking film that grossed $160 million worldwide, the upcoming sequel Sin City: A Dame To Kill For reunites Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller for the next chapter in the series. “Weaving together stunning visuals with an uncompromising, hard-boiled plot, the film promises more lurid tales from the various residents of Basin City.

The film’s cast includes Bruce Willis (Pulp Fiction), Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), Josh Brolin (Milk), Jessica Alba (Spy Kids 4), and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises). Ray Liotta, Eva Green, Jeremy Piven, Jaime King, Dennis Haysbert and Powers Boothe also appear.

The new poster, courtesy of Yahoo, is more of a teaser than anything. Name and a noir attitude. The sequel hits theaters August 22, 2014.

  • Hopefully this does not suck, but after Rodriguez’ huge misfire “Machete Kills”, I’m a little concerned. Tarantino should be fine.

    • Whoops I’m sorry! And yeah I’m worried about Frank Miller. “The Spirit” *shutters*

This here is the perfect example of petty illogic.

Frank Miller is a brilliant writer of comics. The Spirit was a TERRIBLE movie, while a great comic writer, Miller is not a great director. The Spirit is also known to be a decent comic, just not a good movie. The same can be said for at least 50% of the Batman movies out there. Great comics, shit movies. Until the right director came along with the right vision.

Every director has misfires and ego movies. Rodriguez had Machete Kills. He’s also had From Dusk Til Dawn which was awesome, Sin City which was amazing, Planet Terror which was major fun, Spy Kids 1, 2 and 3 were lots of fun for kids (don’t give a damn what adults have to say, my son loves them, so that’s the *only* opinion that matters, a childs), The Faculty was major fun when it was released and still is… so yeah, Machete Kills was a major stumble, because his ego got the better of him, he believed the internet hype. But now? Now he’ll think twice before believing that bullshit again.

As for Sin City : A Dame to Kill For (Wasn’t it renamed A Dame to Die For?) he’s show us no reason to really not trust him, this is just overreactionary hyperbole. Watch part 1 again and rest assured he’ll bring the goods.

@StevenByers did you see the first one? Did you read the comics? They were shot panel for panel. Word for word. Its going to be fine.

Good to see Stacy Keach in here!

  • Eva Green????????? I LOOOOOOVEEE Eva Green! Didn’t know she was apart of the cast until now. So excited!

The poster itself is kind of “meh,” though.
