I’m a huge fan of covers that are done on different instruments from the original. It has the ability to give the song a breath of fresh air, giving it a simple clever twist that would’ve otherwise been missed. It also demonstrates the musicians ability to take a song and transpose it to a different instrument, which is sometimes not the easiest of feats. This cover of Periphery‘s “Make Total Destroy” does just that. Already recognized by the band, the cover features Zombie Frogs members Joey Izzo (piano) and Erik Huang (drums) tackling this behemoth of a track and nailing it right on the head. The chorus is something especially awesome and well worth dedicating four and half minutes of your time for.
