‘The Raid 2’ To Punch Theaters In the Face Come March!

Variety reports that Sony Pictures Classics and Stage 6 Films will release martial-arts sequel The Raid 2 in the U.S. on March 28, 2014, two months after its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

“The Raid 2 starts where the first film ended, with Uwais’ character going undercover and infiltrating the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta crime syndicate in order to protect his family and uncover the corruption in his own police force.

Sony Classics used the same pattern two years ago for the original The Raid with a Sundance showing and a U.S. release in March 2012.

Both films star Iko Uwais and were written and directed by Gareth Evans. The film was produced by Ario Sagantoro for Merantau Films, and Aram Tertzakian and Nate Bolotin of XYZ Films.

I’ll say I really liked the 1st ‘Raid’ film, but I’m not sure if there is really a reason to make ‘R2’ except for money…JMO

Female double hammer scene in a subway… Yeah, I’m still in. And for those of you who haven’t seen the first one yet, shame on you. Now go take your tv to the corner of the room and not come out till you watched the whole film. And no, no dessert tonight.
